Calle Sur

Calle Sur is what happens when you combine man and woman, Black and White, urban and rural. Hearing Calle Sur gives you that gorgeous feeling that something just left you breathless, but you can’t say exactly why. Seeing Calle Sur is living proof that the terms “Hispanic” and “Latino” can’t be summarized.

Performing music from all over Latin America on a large variety of instruments, Calle Sur brings to life the rich diversity of Latin American music, challenges cultural and ethnic preconceptions, and lifts spirits with sheer musical energy and beauty.

Calle Sur consists of Karin Stein (Colombian) and Ed East (Panamanian). Their respective upbringing in the remote savannas of Colombia and the sultry cities of Panama is expressed in their lively concerts - performances sprinkled with outstanding musicianship, a warm stage presence, anecdotes, and humor, all of which add to the charisma of these talented musicians.
